About the role

• Senior Platform Engineer shaping the future of Shippit’s platform with technical leadership. Collaborating with engineering teams to streamline technology choices and enhance developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Partner with our Product and Engineering teams to deliver platform solutions that accelerate our product builds and releases
• Drive consolidation and simplification of our technology choices, ensuring that the technology investments we choose deliver maximum value
• Champion aligned autonomy, helping refine and embed Shippit’s technology vision across teams
• Design and implement infrastructure as code to build, scale, automate and deliver our platform
• Act as the domain experts for our infrastructure and share that knowledge with other teams and internal stakeholders
• Design and implement tooling to enable self service and enhance developer experience
• Use monitoring and observability tooling to help us understand our infrastructure, applications and the overall health of the business
• Champion good practices, continuous improvement, technical excellence - from improving response times to engaging with teams to set SLAs
• Design and implement cloud solution that focuses on availability, security, reliability and performance
• Production support, root cause analysis and post-mortem

Requirements

• A number of years experience supporting SaaS products at a senior level, responsible for deploying products and features autonomously
• Experience in using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience in using and integrating testing tools across the platform lifecycle (e.g. Playwright, k6, Checkov, E2E testing frameworks and related automation tooling)
• Container and container orchestration experience such as Kubernetes or Docker
• Experience with Cloud Computing Platform like AWS
• Experience or understanding in cloud-native architecture and concepts like availability, security, reliability and cost
• Knowledge of what great CI/CD looks like
• Solid experience with monitoring and logging solutions (i.e Datadog, Cloudwatch)
• Programming and TDD experience, with a language such as Node.js, Go, Ruby, etc
• Experience using code management repositories like Git
