About the role
- Accountant managing financial accounting for Semmel Concerts Entertainment in Mannheim, Germany. Responsible for financial tasks and collaboration with auditors and financial departments.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage day-to-day financial accounting (general ledger and sub-ledgers)
- Prepare internal monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and assist in preparing reporting packages for the group’s quarterly close
- Post closing entries, provisions, accruals and valuations
- Ensure correct accounting treatment and perform account reconciliations
- Responsible for VAT filings (domestic and international)
- Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors and group finance departments
- Act as the point of contact for internal departments on all accounting and financial reporting matters
- Ensure compliance with statutory and group-internal accounting requirements
Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree with a focus on accounting/finance
- Several years of professional experience as a Senior Accountant, Bilanzbuchhalter (certified accountant) or sole accountant
- Solid knowledge of accounting under HGB required; knowledge of IFRS desirable
- Experience with group-level consolidation desirable
- Proficiency in DATEV and common Microsoft Office applications required
- Excellent German language skills at native-speaker level
