Consultant supporting clients in precious metal accounting without operational responsibility. Focus on process standardization, reporting, and IT solutions.
Responsibilities
Participate in client projects (precious metals accounting): processing of metal weight accounts, precious metals balance, reporting – design, standardization and documentation of processes.
Monthly closings & reconciliations: design and improvement of metal-reconciliation steps (e.g., receipts/consumption/WIP/output), variance analyses and documentation of findings.
Governance & controls: define practical controls (four-eyes principle, sampling, outside-refiner reconciliation) and auditable evidence trails; interfaces with Trading/Hedging/FX and Finance.
IT enablement (finance-focused): functional specifications and data models for SAP-centered implementation (FI/CO, SD/MM, preferably CO-PC/Analytics) as well as Reporting/BI; support for testing and go-lives.
KPIs (concise): maintain a small set of core KPIs such as Recovery Rate, Loss Rate and mass-balance deviation to objectively assess inventory and closing quality.
Requirements
Degree: Business Administration (BWL) or Business Informatics; alternatively Accounting/Controlling with a strong affinity for process and data topics.
Experience: practical experience in precious metals accounting and/or precious metal recycling/refining; routine in monthly reconciliations, weight accounts, variance analyses and clear process/control documentation.
Tool know-how: confident with SAP (esp. FI/CO, SD/MM, preferably CO-PC/Analytics), reporting/SQL-based analyses; basic understanding of data flows to MES/LIMS.
Working style & soft skills: analytical, precise, structured; strong numerical and attention-to-detail skills; ability to act as an effective interface between business/Finance/Trading and IT; very good German and English language skills.
