About the role

  • Mid-Level Software Engineer (.NET) responsible for building software for the Department of Transportation. Collaborating within a hybrid environment to improve safety on public roadways.

Responsibilities

  • build and support software products used by the Department of Transportation
  • receive tasks and requirements details from Technical Lead
  • analyze the scope of work and provide estimated development timelines
  • follow agile sprint-based development schedule
  • unit test modules prior to handing them off to the Test Team
  • assist the Test Team with load/performance/throughput testing
  • peer-review the work of colleagues and provide feedback for improvement
  • accept constructive feedback from colleagues
  • document design decisions and technical details
  • maintain source code version control in Azure DevOps

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (CS) or related field
  • 3-8 years of work experience in software development or related field
  • 2+ years of writing object-oriented code in C#, C++, or Java
  • 2+ years of building .NET Framework and ASP.NET Core web applications or APIs
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with web UI frameworks like MVC, Angular and Bootstrap
  • 2+ years of designing objects in relational databases (tables, views, stored procedures, indexes)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • 2+ years of creating rich web application user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript
