About the role
- Shift Maintenance First Line Manager supervising mechanics at Savannah River Mission Completion. Responsible for ensuring work compliance with safety and operational standards overseeing maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the direct supervision of mechanics, ensuring work is in compliance with Work Control, Safety, Quality, and Conduct of Operations.
- Plans, coordinates and supervises the activities of assigned mechanics that maintain, repair, install and test a variety of systems, equipment, components in assigned areas/facilities.
- Implements standards, policies, practices and disciplined operations ensuring employees are informed and adhere to rules and regulations.
- Ensures personnel perform work safely and that mechanics are trained and qualified for their activities.
- Coaches, teaches, mentors and provides technical and administrative expertise to mechanics.
- Monitors work performance to ensure quality of work and compliance with work control, safety, quality, and conduct of maintenance.
- Reviews and approves work packages and lockouts for maintenance activities.
- Communicates with other support organizations to ensure activities are started and completed as scheduled.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and relevant experience in engineering, operations and/or maintenance function relating to the responsibilities as defined in the job description.
- Facility qualification process including extensive classroom, formal on-the-job training, and oral board examination conducted by facility management must be completed within one year.
- Rotating shift schedule position.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's or Associate's degree
