About the role

• Senior Software Engineer focused on back-end development for Satispay's payment systems. Architecting core financial software and enhancing security for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Define Technical Strategy: You will define the long-term technical vision for our most critical domains. You will architect complex subsystems that serve as the foundation for the entire company, balancing cross-product requirements with the need for extreme speed and reliability.
• Architect Core Financial Systems: You will design and scale the high-throughput engines responsible for our transaction ledger, payment orchestration, and integrations with external banks, ensuring our "source of truth" is always accurate and available.
• Own Identity & Security Infrastructure: You will provide the base infrastructure for Identity and Access Management (IAM). You will build and maintain the authentication and authorization layers that secure and protect our users.
• Engineer Risk & Fraud Solutions: You will develop and optimize sophisticated services dedicated to managing credit risk and fraud detection, implementing logic that protects the company in real-time.
• Technical Thought Leadership: You will be a key contributor to the product development lifecycle by actively defining requirements. This involves collaborating closely with Product Managers, technical leads, and business stakeholders to translate high-level objectives into clear and actionable requirements. Your responsibilities will include conducting analysis, documenting detailed specifications, and ensuring that all defined requirements are traceable, verifiable, and align with the overall strategic goals and technical architecture.
• Develop Talent: Mentor the next generation of engineers, fostering a culture of precision, operational excellence thinking, and high-quality engineering in a high-paced environment. Drive the adoption of AI-powered tools and methodologies within the team to significantly accelerate development cycles and enhance output quality and efficiency.

Requirements

• Extensive Experience: You have at least 7 years of related experience in back-end software engineering. You have a proven track record of architecting and maintaining microservices in a high-paced environment, building high-throughput systems capable of serving millions of users with high availability.
• Tech Expertise: You possess a deep experience working with Java and a strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS is a plus), capable of handling the most complex technical challenges.
• Strategic Communication: You are able to communicate in a structured and convincing manner, adapting your style to build trust positively and professionally with various stakeholders, capable of building cross-organizational relationships for technical alignment.
• Thought Leadership: You have a proven ability to generate intellectual property and thought leadership. You identify and capitalize on emerging technology trends.
• Passion and Language Skills: You are passionate about FinTech or startup environments and fluent in English.
