About the role
- Senior Globalization Engineer developing and maintaining the Localization Pipeline. Working on GenAI-powered tools and collaborating with multicultural teams.
Responsibilities
- Designs and develops high quality and scalable solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
- Participates in the construction, development and maintenance of the localization pipeline and solutions.
- Works to develop and improve GenAI-powered tools, libraries and features for multilingual support.
- Handles implementation and proper support of various file types in our pipeline and processes.
- Discusses issues and solutions with key stakeholders to improve localization efficiency and quality and develops solutions or tools as necessary.
- Participates in project scoping and scheduling; tracks progress of individual tasks and alerts project lead or manager of issues meeting schedule.
- Maintains accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
- Be encouraged to participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
- Ensure all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organization's secure software development goals.

Requirements
- 8+ years of software development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related quantitative field.
- Possesses strong programming skills in Go, Python and Typescript.
- Has extensive experience with Jira, Confluence, Github (workflows and actions), Gitlab and Gerrit.
- Flexibility and ability to learn new technologies.
- Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
- Technical Knowledge & Skills- Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical, functional, and/or professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; keeping up with current developments and trends in areas of expertise; leveraging expert knowledge to accomplish results.

- Working knowledge of various TMS including Smartling.

- Ability to work in a multicultural, multilingual and collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with agile development practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency in additional language(s) is a plus.
