About the role
- Committee Manager coordinating technical committees for SAE to deliver shared solutions in mobility engineering. Engaging with committee members and managing meeting logistics in compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinating the work of assigned technical committees by acting as the SAE representative at appropriate committee meetings.
- Facilitating committee work before, during and after meetings.
- Planning meeting facilities.
- Working directly with suppliers.
- Ensuring adherence to legal requirements, policies and procedures.
- Conducting on-site registration.
- Ensuring the proactive production of technical standards that are relevant to the industry and which meet the goals of SAE.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field with 3 years experience in business, meeting planning, or an administrative or customer service support field area, or equivalent, required.
- Or will accept an Associates degree with 5 years experience.
- Experience working in or with the aerospace and/or ground vehicle industry, desired.
- Non-profit association experience and industry standards development process, desired.
- Experience in managing people (i.e., supervision, volunteerism), preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, required.
- Strong presentation and meeting facilitation skills, required.
- Ability to develop and implement meeting plans, required.
- Excellent organizational, planning and negotiation skills, required.
- Ability to effectively utilize computer programs and web applications, required.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relation skills, required.
