About the role
- Senior Project Engineer leading proposal development and project planning for Collins Aerospace. Collaborating on engineering processes and supporting the Power & Controls organization in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico.
Responsibilities
- Support the overall strategy and lead sub process definition and/or improvements
- Collaborate on the overall global process standardization
- Lead of Proposal Development: Indicating early key bidding assumptions, dependencies and risks
- Bring cost competitiveness to the Programs: lower NRE costs and local Suppliers
- Work Bid and Proposals Standard Work
- Collaborate on Bid and Proposals dashboard for pursuits and track upcoming and current pursuits
- Support Product Line Value Stream Review and Risk/Opportunity Costing
- Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements
- Estimate costs, resources, and time required to complete projects
- Gather and analyze data to monitor projects' progress
- Meet with the project team weekly to manage project performance
- Conduct critical path analysis and works closely with the IPT
- Monitor and assess project issues, escalates when necessary, and develops resolutions
- Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
- Cost analysis and estimation experience with engineering projects
- Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written)
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred)
- Significant experience with Microsoft Project 2013 and MS Excel
- Experience with electronics or digital controls
- Experience with planning arbitration and adjudication across IPTs
- Experience with recovery planning and workaround facilitation
- Experience with working multiple schedules in parallel
- Understanding of Project Management Theory and Concepts
- Product Life Cycle Knowledge including Systems, Hardware, Software, and Mechanical disciplines.
- EVMS, including earned value and performance management
- Agile methodologies knowledge
