Junior Engineer assisting with type approval activities for maritime equipment and systems. Working with experienced engineers in an international team based in Norway or Germany.
Responsibilities
Participate in type approval activities for electrical, instrumentation, navigation, and radio equipment under guidance from senior engineers.
Support approval projects and assist with testing and verification of equipment from international manufacturers.
Learn how to apply international rules, standards, and regulations in real projects.
Cooperate with colleagues across DNV’s global organization, including local stations and sales teams.
Take part in customer meetings and gradually build confidence in professional communication.
Develop your technical skills through training programs, mentoring, and on-the-job learning.
Report to the Head of Section – TA/MED Electrical, Control & Navigation Systems.
Requirements
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, System Engineering, Software Engineering, Cybernetics or a related discipline.
A strong motivation to learn and develop professionally.
Interest in areas such as:
Instrumentation and integrated systems
Automation, sensors, and electronics
Computer and data networks
Cyber security and system integration
Testing, simulation, and verification
Curiosity about standards, regulations, and safety-critical systems in the maritime industry.
Good English communication skills, written and spoken. Knowledge of Norwegian and/or German is an advantage, but not required.
