About the role
- Risk Analytics Manager at River Island responsible for operational risk analytics strategies and data insights. Collaborating across departments to enhance risk management frameworks and practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of operational risk data analytics strategies.
- Develop and maintain key risk indicators (KRIs), dashboards, and reporting tools to monitor operational risks across the business.
- Partner with business units to identify emerging risks and provide insights through data.
- Conduct deep-dive risk analyses to uncover patterns, root causes, and trends.
- Support incident reporting and loss data management processes, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Collaborate with IT and Data teams to ensure appropriate data governance and accessibility.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
- Provide training and support to teams across the business on using data to understand and manage operational risk.
Requirements
- Proven experience in risk analytics, data analysis, or business intelligence within a retail, FMCG, or fast-paced consumer environment.
- Strong proficiency in data visualisation and analytics tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or similar).
- Excellent understanding of operational risk concepts and frameworks.
- Experience working with large, complex datasets from varied sources.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical insights into business-friendly language.
- Analytical mindset with a problem-solving approach.
- Experience in fashion retail or eCommerce is desirable.
- Knowledge of GRC systems or operational risk tools is beneficial.
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) and retail platforms is a plus.
