About the role
- SAP Datasphere Consultant responsible for end-to-end data modeling and validation. Collaborating with stakeholders to ensure data transformation and governance compliance in India.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage end-to-end data models, views, and data flows within SAP Datasphere, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
- Work across all core components of Datasphere such as Data Builder, Business Builder, Catalog, Spaces, and Connections.
- Build and maintain semantic models, fact/dimension tables, hierarchical structures, and analytical datasets.
- Perform detailed data analysis to validate data quality, identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate data transformations.
- Implement secure data access by configuring row-level and object-level security policies within Datasphere.
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and harmonization of data from SAP and non-SAP systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into robust data models and analytical layers.
- Integrate Datasphere with SAP HANA, BW/4HANA, S/4HANA, cloud sources, and third-party databases.
- Ensure adherence to data governance, metadata management, and security compliance.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of all aspects of SAP Datasphere, including data modelling, semantic modelling, data flows, spaces, and security.
- Proficient in data modelling, including star schema, snowflake schema, fact/dimension modelling, and semantic layer design.
- Proficient in data analysis with the ability to interpret data patterns, validate transformations, and troubleshoot inconsistencies.
- Strong experience implementing row-level and object-level security within SAP Datasphere.
- Good understanding of OLTP and OLAP systems, ETL workflows, and data warehousing principles.
- Solid hands-on experience with SAP HANA modelling, SQL scripting, and performance tuning.
- Proficient in SQL with the ability to create complex queries for validation and analysis.
- Experience integrating Datasphere with SAP and non-SAP systems using OData, JDBC, SDI/SDQ, or other connectors.
- Familiarity with data pipelines, data ingestion methods, and transformation frameworks.
- Knowledge of SAP BW, BW/4HANA, S/4HANA data structures is an advantage.
