About the role
- Senior Infrastructure Engineer managing today's RPC infrastructure and building a Pharmacy Management System for a growing compounding pharmacy network. Hands-on role in AWS environments with monitoring, access management, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
- Stabilize and own today’s RPC infrastructure (B2B integrations, PHI/finance data flows, partner endpoints, device connectivity)
- Build the Pharmacy Management System foundation (multi-account AWS, IaC, deployments, observability, device gateway)
- Define and standardize uptime, access, deployments, and audits
- Monitoring and alerts: bring current jobs and services under one dashboard; actionable alerts only
- Access and secrets: least privilege, scheduled rotation, audited break-glass
- Data movement: resilient SFTP/HTTPS pipelines with retries, delivery proof, and audit trails
- B2B partner connectivity: standardize endpoints, key/cert lifecycles, and connectivity checks
- Regulatory/reporting jobs: make them observable, predictable, and recoverable
- On-call path: lightweight rota and runbooks leaders can read
- Costs: tagging, budgets, and right-sizing to keep spend in control
- DR readiness: RTO/RPO defined; first tabletop exercise and first dry-run completed
- AWS multi-account under Organizations with guardrails and account vending
- Infrastructure as code with modules, remote state, and PR-based change reviews
- CI/CD with gated promotions and fast, safe rollback
- Observability: metrics, logs, traces; clear SLOs for key services and background jobs
- Device fleet operations for pharmacy hardware: inventory, health checks, secure connectivity, staged rollouts
Requirements
- AWS fundamentals: identity, networking, compute, storage, encryption
- IaC: Terraform or Pulumi; modules, remote state, CI for IaC, review discipline
- CI/CD: build and operate pipelines, gated deployments, rollback strategies
- Observability: metrics/logs/traces; SLOs that map to leader-readable targets
- Secure data movement: SFTP/HTTPS pipelines, cert/key lifecycle, retries, delivery proof, audit
- Incident response: calm under pressure; reduce MTTR with better signals and runbooks
- Multi-account patterns: Organizations, account vending, guardrails
- Supply-chain hygiene: image and dependency scanning, base-image cadence
- Reporting: a monthly one-pager on uptime, job success, time to detect (TTD), time to restore (TTR), and cost trend
- Nice to have: Policy as code (OPA/Conftest), Databricks, Snowflake, or similar warehouse administration, Regulated or finance-adjacent experience, Device fleets or secure gateway experience
