About the role

  • Underwriting Assistant providing administrative and operational support in a fast-growing commercial insurance company. Engage in tasks aligned with underwriting practices and broker interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard insurance documents using templates and underwriters' guidelines.
  • Enter and update data in Guidewire or other systems.
  • Organize and maintain underwriting digital files.
  • Respond to routine broker inquiries and escalate more complex cases.
  • Assist in gathering underwriting information for submissions.
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring documentation accuracy.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience in the insurance industry
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Bilingual (English/French) to support underwriters and brokers across Canada, both verbally and in writing
  • Flexibility to work Pacific Time hours
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize effectively
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently and a strong sense of responsibility
