About the role

  • Underwriting Assistant providing administrative support for underwriters in a fast-growing insurance company. Handling insurance documentation and maintaining underwriting databases efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare standard insurance documents using templates and underwriters' guidelines.
  • Enter and update data in Guidewire or other systems.
  • Organize and maintain digital underwriting files.
  • Respond to routine inquiries from brokers and escalate more complex cases.
  • Assist in gathering underwriting information for submissions.
  • Support compliance efforts by ensuring documentation accuracy.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the insurance industry
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bilingual (English/French) to support underwriters and brokers across Canada, both written and spoken
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize effectively
  • Adaptability and a proactive approach
  • Ability to work independently with a strong sense of responsibility
