About the role
- Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Professional managing certificate lifecycle in Vancouver. Ensuring security and integrity of PKI services with a focus on application support and development.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full Certificate Lifecycle
- Oversee and execute all phases of certificate management
- Ensure strict adherence to established PKI policies
- Administer and maintain internal Certificate Authorities (CAs) and Registration Authorities (RAs)
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve issues related to certificate validity
- Participate in the design, planning, and implementation of new PKI solutions
- Implement and monitor security controls to protect the PKI infrastructure
- Ensure the PKI environment meets internal security standards
- Assist in the secure generation, storage, and management of cryptographic keys
- Develop and implement scripts and tools to automate repetitive PKI tasks
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for PKI configuration
- Keep abreast of the latest developments, vulnerabilities, and best practices in the PKI and cryptographic space
Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Information Technology
- Minimum of 3 years focused on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) administration and support
- Deep expertise and hands-on experience with Microsoft CA, NDES, OCSP and Venafi
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Deep understanding of PKI concepts, including X.509 certificates, certificate chains, trust anchors
- Proficiency with SSL/TLS protocols
- Familiarity with relevant security standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
- Nice-to-have: Certifications in Cyber Security (CISSP, CCSP etc.)
- Understanding of industry standards (IST 27001/2, NIST etc.)
- Venafi Certified Administrator (VSA) or Venafi Security Professional (VSP)
