About the role

  • Senior Project Manager overseeing digital enhancements for UK rail's Passenger Assist system. Focused on cross-functional teamwork and project execution within complex programs, aiming for greater accessibility.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Oversee the execution of project plans, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including developers, testers, business analysts, and external suppliers.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project progress, addressing any concerns and incorporating feedback into project plans.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Monitor risk factors throughout the project lifecycle and adjust plans as necessary to minimise impact.
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure optimal project performance.
  • Manage the onboarding and training of new team members, ensuring they are up to speed with project objectives and processes.
  • Track project performance against key metrics and milestones.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all project documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with stakeholders on non-roadmap requests/additional scope changes.
  • Scope shaping and market research, initiation activities in setting and driving workshops and planning sessions

Requirements

  • At least five years’ experience of being a Project Manager within complex programmes
  • Experience working with programme teams and technology specialists in the creation of digital consumer products (eg websites and apps).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including creating detailed reports, and comprehensive documentation
  • Proactive and comfortable working through ambiguity
  • Ability to present a compelling narrative with data to influence stakeholders and implement change
  • A strong customer first mindset
  • Detailed focussed
