About the role

  • Project Engineering Manager leading large-scale electrolysis projects at Quest One. Coordinating various engineering disciplines and ensuring successful project execution with a focus on sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility as Project Engineering Manager – Process for large-scale electrolyzer projects, including coordination of the entire Balance-of-Plant (BoP) process scope
  • Carrying out concept and basic engineering across all relevant process disciplines (including piping, utilities, gas handling, water treatment, safety)
  • Responsible for interdisciplinary interface management and close coordination with Design, Electrical Engineering, and Instrumentation, Control & Automation (I&C)
  • Preparation, review and approval of process engineering documents such as Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), mass and energy balances, datasheets and functional descriptions
  • Development of technical specifications for process engineering components
  • Technical evaluation of suppliers as well as conducting design reviews and clarification meetings
  • Independently managing engineering packages, proactively advancing topics and making decisions even on new or unclear technical issues
  • Supporting Project Management and Procurement with tendering, risk analyses and change management processes
  • Performing site visits and supporting assembly, commissioning and troubleshooting
  • Active contribution to the further development of standards, tools and best practices in Process Engineering

Requirements

  • Degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
  • Several years of solid professional experience in plant or power plant construction, chemical engineering or process engineering
  • Very good knowledge of system design, preparation of PFDs and P&IDs, layout planning, piping engineering and instrumentation
  • Experience in complex customer projects, ideally in an EPC environment
  • Highly independent, structured and solution-oriented way of working, with strong cross-disciplinary technical understanding
  • Confident presence and the ability to make technical decisions independently
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Excellent communication skills in interdisciplinary teams and when dealing with suppliers and customers
  • Willingness to work on new subject areas and a pronounced hands-on mentality
