About the role
- Senior Software Engineer developing software solutions for QBE with a focus on enhancing operational applications. Collaborating within a hybrid working model in Auckland, NZ.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, test, correct, and document complex programs and scripts based on agreed specifications and standards
- Collaborate with software engineers to develop and integrate software solutions
- Enhance existing systems to improve operational applications
- Manage the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies
- Ensure customer impacts are assessed and addressed in the design and delivery of solutions
- Proactively build and maintain strong and effective working relationships with key stakeholders
- Perform more complex development activities beyond the competency or skill of a software engineer
- Analyse business requirements, refine and implement solutions
- Develop applications in collaboration with BA/QA and the Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) of the project owners
- Support developers to grow technically and professionally
Requirements
- Must have legal working rights in NZ
- Experienced full stack software engineer with excellent communication skills
- Hands-on development on client-server and n-tier systems
- Coaching and mentoring team members
- Proficient in relational database and SQL development
- Broad knowledge of software development life cycle processes
- Expertise in technical and/or business area
- Practical commercial experience in .NET development (.NET Framework and/or .NET Core)
- Knowledge on Test Driven Development, CI/CD principles & agile working
