About the role
- Werkstudent*in supporting bioinformatics and proteomics within an international team at PTB. Focused on developing workflows for mass spectrometry applications in biological research.
Responsibilities
- Data preparation and preprocessing
- Support of ongoing research projects within the research group
- Development, implementation and testing of computational tools or workflows to improve the standardization and robustness of mass spectrometry–based omics data
- Contribution to open-source software projects or community standards
Requirements
- Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Biology, Biotechnology, Artificial Intelligence for Molecular Sciences (AIMS), Computer Science or a comparable field
- Strong interest in bioinformatics, systems biology and method development for standardizing and interpreting biological data
- Affinity for computational research
- Programming experience in R, Python or similar languages; knowledge of Bioconductor, tidyverse and Quarto is an advantage
- Ideally, experience with mass spectrometry–based metabolomics/proteomics or omics data analysis
- Experience in reproducible science, open-source development and FAIR data principles is an advantage
- Cooperative, structured, goal-oriented and committed working style
- Teamwork and communication skills
- German (A2 level) and English (B2 level) skills
