Responsibilities
Lead end‑to‑end operational audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, defining audit scope, developing audit programs, executing testing, and documenting results.
Identify and assess internal control deficiencies, operational risks, and process gaps; develop practical, actionable recommendations to improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support cost‑savings initiatives.
Prepare clear and concise audit reports that communicate findings, root causes, risk implications, and recommendations to management.
Monitor management action plans and verify that corrective actions are implemented effectively and on time.
Stay current on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments to ensure audit approaches remain relevant and future‑focused.
Partner with business leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders to promote strong internal controls and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure compliance with Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) professional standards and Protective’s audit methodology, supporting overall quality assurance efforts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
Minimum of 3 years of auditing experience, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
Proficiency in Excel and audit software; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
