About the role
- DevOps Engineer responsible for deployment and reliability of investment management software solutions. Collaborating across teams to maintain optimal system performance in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute on-premises software installations and upgrades on virtual machines (VM environments).
- Design, maintain, and optimize cloud-based deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Automate build, deployment, and release processes to ensure consistent and reliable software delivery.
- Monitor system health, application logs, performance metrics, and availability across client environments.
- Proactively identify performance bottlenecks, security risks, and infrastructure issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Troubleshoot deployment and infrastructure-related incidents, providing first-level technical support to clients.
- Collaborate closely with Software Developers, QA Engineers, Business Analysts, and IT teams to ensure smooth releases and stable environments.
- Maintain documentation for installation procedures, deployment workflows, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Ensure environments meet security, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Participate in release planning and coordinate production deployments.
Requirements
- BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in DevOps, system administration, infrastructure engineering, or a related role.
- Strong experience with: Virtual machine environments (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar), CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., application logs, performance monitoring, alerting systems).
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, security principles, and system architecture.
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, or similar) for automation tasks.
- Experience with SQL and database deployments will be considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, methodical, and detail-oriented.
- Hands-on, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of ownership.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
