About the role

  • Paralegal role supporting Legal & Compliance Team at Prodigy Finance. Managing systems and compliance responsibilities for legal processes in a hybrid setting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the systems that support the Legal & Compliance Team including workflow processes, diary systems and management of meetings
  • Manage the document and information systems including the contract database, document storage systems, electronic archiving and knowledge database
  • General administration, including arranging for signing and notarisation of documents
  • Assist the team to collate all information and documents to prepare for new license applications and address queries
  • Keep track of renewal processes and assist with the submission of renewal applications
  • Manage communications and enquiries with state regulators and licensing vendors
  • Develop compliance training and manage the roll-out of training and prepare reports
  • Daily monitoring and investigation of suspicious transactions
  • Data protection investigations and reporting
  • Conduct compliance and legal research on various topics

Requirements

  • Tertiary level / post matric qualification in paralegal qualification, compliance qualification, law degree or other suitable qualification
  • Fluent in English with strong verbal and writing skills
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal, compliance professional or junior lawyer at an established financial institution, fintech business or law firm
  • Excellent organisational, management and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, innovative, able to work independently and self-motivated
  • High levels of confidence with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • IT proficient with understanding of Google Docs Editors Suite (Google Docs, Slides and Sheets) and MS Office and AI tools (Gemini and ChatGPT)
