Paralegal role supporting Legal & Compliance Team at Prodigy Finance. Managing systems and compliance responsibilities for legal processes in a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
Manage the systems that support the Legal & Compliance Team including workflow processes, diary systems and management of meetings
Manage the document and information systems including the contract database, document storage systems, electronic archiving and knowledge database
General administration, including arranging for signing and notarisation of documents
Assist the team to collate all information and documents to prepare for new license applications and address queries
Keep track of renewal processes and assist with the submission of renewal applications
Manage communications and enquiries with state regulators and licensing vendors
Develop compliance training and manage the roll-out of training and prepare reports
Daily monitoring and investigation of suspicious transactions
Data protection investigations and reporting
Conduct compliance and legal research on various topics
Requirements
Tertiary level / post matric qualification in paralegal qualification, compliance qualification, law degree or other suitable qualification
Fluent in English with strong verbal and writing skills
Minimum of 3 years experience as a paralegal, compliance professional or junior lawyer at an established financial institution, fintech business or law firm
Excellent organisational, management and administrative skills with strong attention to detail
Proactive, innovative, able to work independently and self-motivated
High levels of confidence with the ability to take initiative and work autonomously
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent research and analytical skills
IT proficient with understanding of Google Docs Editors Suite (Google Docs, Slides and Sheets) and MS Office and AI tools (Gemini and ChatGPT)
