About the role

Senior Software Engineer developing digital solutions for Porto's assistance services. Involves platform engineering, cloud expertise, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

**Platform Engineering:** Develop infrastructure and tools as products to accelerate and standardize the work of other developers in the vertical;
**Distributed Systems:** Architect scalable and resilient solutions using microservices patterns and event-driven architecture (*Event-Driven*);
**Polyglot Development:** Apply strong technical expertise across the **Java, .NET and Node.js** ecosystems to build robust APIs (REST/GraphQL);
**Cloud Expertise:** Implement and maintain managed cloud services (**AWS, GCP or Azure**), focusing on scalability and cost efficiency;
**Messaging and Queues:** Configure and manage complex data flows using tools such as **Kafka, RabbitMQ or SQS**;
**Security and Governance:** Ensure application integrity by following **OWASP** standards, encryption protocols and authentication management;
**Automation and CI/CD:** Orchestrate continuous deployment pipelines to reduce time-to-market and ensure delivery quality;
**Observability:** Establish monitoring and telemetry standards (e.g., **Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog**) to ensure overall system health.

**Academic Background:** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technology fields;
**Platform Mindset:** Solid experience solving complex architectural problems, focused on building new platforms and a long-term vision for system evolution;
**Leadership and Mentorship:** Ability to guide engineering teams in implementing defined architectures, acting as a mentor and technical reference;
**Cross-functional Collaboration:** Experience working closely with different teams, demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication to align expectations;
**Tool Proficiency:** Mastery of management and versioning tools (such as Jira and GIT), plus proficiency in infrastructure and development technologies (Java, .NET or Node.js);
**Technological Curiosity:** A continuous desire to explore new approaches, methodologies and certifications (such as AWS, Azure or GCP) to improve digital platform development.
