About the role

  • Service technician working on medical laser systems across Düsseldorf, Münster, and Bremen. Conducting repairs, maintenance, and customer support in the field.

Responsibilities

  • You perform maintenance, repairs and safety inspections (STK) on medical laser systems in the field.
  • You carry out systematic troubleshooting on electrical, electromechanical and device-level assemblies and rectify faults on site at customer locations.
  • You test systems for functionality and operational safety, replace components as required and ensure the reliable readiness for use of the systems.
  • You document service calls, test results and measures taken accurately and traceably in accordance with internal guidelines.
  • You support customers by phone or via remote support for technical queries and for initial fault diagnosis.
  • You independently coordinate your assignments within your territory, schedule appointments with customers and ensure a professional, service-oriented process.
  • You help ensure that medical laser systems in the field can be operated reliably, in compliance with standards and with high availability.

Requirements

  • You have completed a technical vocational qualification or a degree, for example as a Medical Technician, Service Technician, Electronics Technician, Electronics Technician for Devices and Systems, Mechatronics Technician, Electrical Engineer, State-Certified Technician in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineer, Service Engineer or a comparable discipline.
  • You have experience in technical service, customer service, field service or on-site service — ideally in medical technology, laboratory equipment, laser systems, test instruments, analytical devices or comparable complex capital equipment.
  • You are confident in troubleshooting electrical or mechatronic systems and work in a structured, precise and responsible manner.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, repair, STK, device technology, module replacement or technical testing is an advantage.
  • Most importantly, you are able to quickly familiarize yourself with complex systems.
  • For the field service role you hold a class B driving license and are willing to travel within the Düsseldorf, Münster and Bremen areas.

Benefits

  • Start from home instead of commuting to a central office: Begin each day from your home within your service area and drive directly to customers.
  • Field service with limited travel: On average only around 2 overnight stays per month are required.
  • Structured and thorough onboarding: You will be systematically trained on laser systems, service processes, maintenance routines, tests and documentation standards until you can confidently manage your systems independently.
  • Technically challenging systems: You will work on medical laser systems rather than interchangeable standard equipment.
  • Broad service scope: The manufacturer-independent approach gives you know-how in maintenance, repair, STK, fault analysis, module replacement and technical customer support across different systems.
  • Attractive field service package: You will receive a company car for customer appointments as well as an expense policy for travel.
  • Stable market environment: Medical technology offers long-term prospects, high technical relevance and a working environment where service quality matters directly.
