About the role
- Embedded Systems Cyber Security Engineer designing and implementing security solutions. Involved in risk analysis, requirement management, and client consultation.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk analyses (e.g., TARA) to assess potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Analyze, derive and manage cyber security requirements in customer projects
- Design, document and implement holistic security architectures
- Contribute to system and architecture design, taking security-relevant aspects into account
- Develop and integrate safety-critical functions in embedded systems (C/C++)
- Conduct code reviews and verify security requirements as part of security audits
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Cyber Resilience Act, ISO 21434, IEC 62443)
- Provide technical consulting and support to our customers on all embedded cyber security matters
- Carry out penetration tests with Kali Linux, if required
Requirements
- A completed degree in computer science, electrical engineering, IT security or a comparable technical qualification
- Several years of practical experience in embedded software development (e.g., in C/C++)
- Good knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, bash or PowerShell
- Solid knowledge of industrial bus systems and protocols such as CAN, CANopen, UDS, EtherCAT, IO-Link or traditional serial protocols (RS232, RS485, Modbus, ...)
- Proven knowledge and practical experience in cyber security, ideally in embedded environments
- Familiarity with current security technologies and experience conducting vulnerability analyses
- Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
