Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and ongoing enhancement of detailed financial models to forecast business performance and provide clear, insightful variance analysis to budget holders
  • Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting to support a fast‑growing, data‑driven organisation
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the key commercial and operational drivers across the business, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and profitability
  • Analyse trends and performance in real time, delivering clear recommendations to senior stakeholders to support informed decision‑making
  • Support commercial tenders and new business initiatives by ensuring all proposals are fully scoped, accurately modelled and financially robust
  • Lead the budgeting and reforecasting cycles, ensuring commercial plans are aligned with financial targets and strategic priorities
  • Contribute to M&A activity by building business cases, modelling prospective acquisitions and supporting integration planning
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organisation, including regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensure robust financial controls, policies and governance are upheld within commercial finance processes
  • Provide high‑quality financial insight and support to the CFO and Finance Director on strategic and operational priorities
  • Lead, coach and develop a small team of Commercial Accountants, providing clear direction, supporting skills growth and ensuring high‑quality output during periods of rapid business change

Requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong blend of commercial and technical accounting experience
  • Highly proficient in advanced Excel, with the ability to build, manipulate and interpret complex financial models and large datasets
  • Proven experience leading, managing and developing a finance team, including coaching, performance management and supporting team members through periods of growth and change
  • Strong understanding of key commercial drivers in a subscription, healthcare, or e‑commerce environment
  • Knowledge of financial controls and governance frameworks
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting cycles
  • Understanding of tendering, pricing, and commercial evaluation processes
  • Knowledge of data analysis tools or BI platforms
