Responsibilities
Lead the design, development and ongoing enhancement of detailed financial models to forecast business performance and provide clear, insightful variance analysis to budget holders
Drive continuous improvements in financial reporting, analysis and forecasting to support a fast‑growing, data‑driven organisation
Maintain a deep understanding of the key commercial and operational drivers across the business, monitoring performance and identifying opportunities to improve growth, efficiency and profitability
Analyse trends and performance in real time, delivering clear recommendations to senior stakeholders to support informed decision‑making
Support commercial tenders and new business initiatives by ensuring all proposals are fully scoped, accurately modelled and financially robust
Lead the budgeting and reforecasting cycles, ensuring commercial plans are aligned with financial targets and strategic priorities
Contribute to M&A activity by building business cases, modelling prospective acquisitions and supporting integration planning
Build strong, collaborative relationships across the organisation, including regular interaction with the Senior Leadership Team
Ensure robust financial controls, policies and governance are upheld within commercial finance processes
Provide high‑quality financial insight and support to the CFO and Finance Director on strategic and operational priorities
Lead, coach and develop a small team of Commercial Accountants, providing clear direction, supporting skills growth and ensuring high‑quality output during periods of rapid business change
Requirements
Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong blend of commercial and technical accounting experience
Highly proficient in advanced Excel, with the ability to build, manipulate and interpret complex financial models and large datasets
Proven experience leading, managing and developing a finance team, including coaching, performance management and supporting team members through periods of growth and change
Strong understanding of key commercial drivers in a subscription, healthcare, or e‑commerce environment
Knowledge of financial controls and governance frameworks
Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting cycles
Understanding of tendering, pricing, and commercial evaluation processes
Knowledge of data analysis tools or BI platforms
