- Leading Pfizer's Vaccines US Field Medical Director team with a focus on strategic direction and medical impact. Collaborating cross-functionally to meet customer medical needs and ensure compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Vaccines US Field Medical Director (FMD) team
- Set group’s vision and strategic direction to yield the highest level of medical impact
- Partner cross-functionally with US and Global Medical Affairs, Global Health and Value, Vaccine Research, Global Product Development
- Facilitate internal information sharing and coordination in compliance with Pfizer and external policies
- Ensure team’s expertise meets customer-facing medical needs across lifecycle of Pfizer vaccines
- Provide education on the clinical and economic impact of Pfizer vaccines
- Contribute to development and execution of team medical plan aligned with US Medical Affairs strategic plans
- Guide work prioritization and resource allocation within team
- Ensure compliance of team members with required responsibilities
- Maintain strong working relationships with necessary platform functions such as Legal, Compliance, and Human Resources.
Requirements
- M.D., Ph.D. or Pharm.D. required
- M.D. and 9 or more years of relevant health care / pharmaceutical experience required; Pharm.D. / Ph.D. 10+ years or more required
- Therapeutic area experience in one or more relevant therapeutic areas (e.g. Vaccines)
- Field-based medical leadership experience
- People management experience required; Leadership experience as both a direct line manager and significantly demonstrated leadership skills in a matrix environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and self-awareness skills
- Demonstrated ability to rapidly adopt and utilize new digital technology and other resources with medical customers and record medical interactions
- Strong strategic, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability and interest to manage a team of geographically dispersed professionals
- Ability to work independently with show flexibility and organizational awareness and align with business priorities and strategies
- Must be decisive, exercise good judgment, organized and with the ability to prioritize a large workload
- Ability to manage resources, programs and multiple projects
- Ability to travel nationally within the US and internationally as needed for the business.
