Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 3-5 engineers, providing career guidance and individual development plans
- Conduct regular 1:1s, provide timely feedback, and address performance issues with empathy
- Actively recruit talent, conduct managerial interviews, and train team members for technical interviews
- Own delivery of product commitments, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet customer needs while balancing technical debt
- Provide guidance on architecture decisions and emerging technologies through code reviews and hands-on involvement
- Champion shift-left testing practices and comprehensive test coverage following the testing pyramid (60-70% unit, 20-30% integration, 5-10% E2E)
- Build partnerships with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to accomplish collaborative goals
- Author project plans, draft quarterly OKRs, and translate business objectives into technical strategy.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), microservices, CI/CD, and modern development practices
- Deep knowledge of testing strategies, test automation, and quality assurance practices in agile environments
- 3+ years engineering management experience with ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing talent
- Exceptional written and verbal skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
- Understanding of product development lifecycle and ability to balance technical decisions with business objectives
- Nice To Have: Experience in financial services, property technology, or regulated industries
- Nice To Have: Knowledge of AI frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, Anthropic Claude, Github Copilot
- Nice To Have: Experience with modern data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Superset, dbt
- Nice To Have: Background in DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering
- Nice To Have: Computer science degree or equivalent practical experience.
