Responsibilities
Manage, mentor, and grow a team of 3-5 engineers, providing career guidance and individual development plans
Conduct regular 1:1s, provide timely feedback, and address performance issues with empathy
Actively recruit talent, conduct managerial interviews, and train team members for technical interviews
Own delivery of product commitments, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet customer needs while balancing technical debt
Provide guidance on architecture decisions and emerging technologies through code reviews and hands-on involvement
Champion shift-left testing practices and comprehensive test coverage following the testing pyramid (60-70% unit, 20-30% integration, 5-10% E2E)
Build partnerships with Product, Design, and other engineering teams to accomplish collaborative goals
Author project plans, draft quarterly OKRs, and translate business objectives into technical strategy.
Requirements
Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), microservices, CI/CD, and modern development practices
Deep knowledge of testing strategies, test automation, and quality assurance practices in agile environments
3+ years engineering management experience with ability to hire, develop, and retain high-performing talent
Exceptional written and verbal skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences
Understanding of product development lifecycle and ability to balance technical decisions with business objectives
Nice To Have: Experience in financial services, property technology, or regulated industries
Nice To Have: Knowledge of AI frameworks: LangChain, LlamaIndex, Anthropic Claude, Github Copilot
Nice To Have: Experience with modern data platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Superset, dbt
Nice To Have: Background in DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, or platform engineering
