- Design, build, and promote reusable resilience patterns and tooling
- Own and advance our observability strategy
- Mentor and coach engineers across the organization
- Establish and drive a new Operational Excellence review process
- Define and measure SLOs for critical user journeys
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience building and shipping complex production systems
- Direct experience in performance, scalability, or observability is a significant plus
- Enjoys mentoring other engineers and can explain complex technical ideas clearly
- Deep expertise in the three pillars of observability (metrics, logs, and traces)
- Experience in instrumenting complex, distributed systems
- Ability to listen with empathy, build trust, and influence teams without direct authority
- Ability to build robust, well-tested libraries and tools
- Takes initiative, comfortable with ambiguity, and effective at driving projects
