About the role

  • IT Infrastructure & Systems Administrator managing servers, storage, and cloud services for hybrid IT environment. Collaborating with IT teams to ensure system stability and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and patch Windows and Linux servers.
  • Support SQL Server environments, including backups and performance checks.
  • Manage storage systems and virtual machines.
  • Assist with Azure AD Connect and hybrid integrations.
  • Keep infrastructure asset records accurate and updated.
  • Help administer Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra ID, and Intune policies.
  • Support provisioning and configuration of Azure resources (VMs, storage, networking).
  • Participate in cloud improvement and optimisation initiatives.
  • Monitor and test backups for VMs, SQL, and storage systems.
  • Support disaster recovery processes and documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining the server room environment, equipment layout, and cabling.
  • Perform routine checks on cooling, power, and environmental controls.
  • Handle escalations from 1st and 2nd Line Support related to infrastructure.
  • Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Use monitoring tools (such as PRTG or Azure Monitor) to track infrastructure health.
  • Assist with performance tuning, capacity planning, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Follow change control procedures for updates and deployments.
  • Use Group Policy, Intune, or PowerShell for configuration consistency.
  • Contribute to compliance efforts, documentation, and audit readiness.

Requirements

  • Experience working in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or an advanced support role.
  • Good understanding of Windows Server, virtualization technologies, networking fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure services, and Active Directory.
  • Experience with backup systems (e.g., Veeam) is an advantage.
  • SQL Server, Linux, firewall, or Intune knowledge is considered a plus.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other IT teams and communicate with stakeholders.
