About the role
- Senior PHY Software Engineer developing and validating PHY technologies at Parallel Wireless. Collaborating with teams globally and implementing efficient solutions for mobile networks.
Responsibilities
- Take an active role in the full development life cycle of PHY features, from initial design through to integration in an end-to-end system
- Implement product features in C++, using your expertise to produce highly efficient solutions
- Drive system integration of new features, working with teams in the UK, Israel, and India
- Work within a well-equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art test tools – RF equipment, UE emulators, commercial UEs
Requirements
- Strong C and/or C++ programming expertise, with emphasis on real-time, multi-threaded software.
- Experience of PHY Layer or Layer 1 for wireless communication systems (4G LTE, 5G NR, Wi-Fi, or OFDM-based technologies).
- Understanding of digital signal processing (DSP) concepts
- Hands-on experience in Linux environments, including multi-core, low-latency, and embedded systems.
- Experience with SIMD programming and vectorization for performance optimisation is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with Matlab/Octave for algorithm design, prototyping, and verification is desirable.
