Grid Innovation Delivery Intern with PG&E working on Remote Grid technology and engineering processes. Engaging with innovative tools and supporting project engineers in a hybrid role based in Oakland, CA.
Responsibilities
Support many aspects of the Grid Innovation Engineers’ work, including electrical design and cross-functional elements such as project management, project development and data analytics.
Learn about the Remote Grid technology (solar, battery, generator standalone power systems), engineering approaches to assess feasibility of remote grids, and PG&E’s associated standards and processes.
Participate in regular standups and working meetings as we work with teams across PG&E to improve the Remote Grid program.
Complete individual work related to the assessment, design and sizing of Remote Grid systems.
Innovate and contribute by using Generative AI to support engineering processes and development of tools.
Provide a final presentation to close out the internship and share with Grid Innovation Delivery about your learnings, accomplishments, and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
Qualified candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering at an accredited University
Students must be continuing their education towards degree during and/or after the internship
Must have reliable transportation to and from work location
Electrical Engineering preferred
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Coursework and/or experience with data analytics
Coursework and/or experience with Generative AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot / Google Gemini or other similar AI tools
Minimum two years of college completed
