About the role
- Expert Cloud Security Engineer managing cloud security automation for PG&E. Collaborating with teams to protect against cyberattacks while ensuring effective security controls.
Responsibilities
- Assist in consulting and guidance during the detailed design, build, test, and deploy phases of IT projects.
- Deploy new applications, application updates, security updates/patches and report creation.
- Partner with engineers to develop technical standards and manuals for design, and maintenance.
- Provide new and innovative solutions and recommendations to enhance database(s) with new data sources and improved data processes.
- Help design fault-tolerant system architectures to run mission-critical applications and ensures high-availability of systems in AWS cloud.
- Develop and monitor governance standards, processes, and procedures to assure accurate records and information security.
- Develop and maintain broad organizational security and threat awareness of major initiatives and management priorities.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or job-related discipline or equivalent experience
- 7 years experience in IT-Information Technology
- 3 years experience in IT-Information Technology Cloud Technologies
- 3 years of cybersecurity experience
- Experience in IT-Information Technology programming and automation
- Experience in an Agile environment
- AWS-Amazon Web Services Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent certification
- Experience as a sysadmin in using OS platform (Linux/Unix) (desired)
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment technologies (desired)
- Experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet and Ansible (desired)
- Experience with network fundamentals such as DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP (desired)
- Experience in risk management and modeling (desired)
