About the role

  • Corrosion Engineer providing technical and field support for PG&E's natural gas transmission pipeline system. Engaging in technical problem-solving related to pipeline corrosion prevention and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes basic engineering principles to help operations and maintenance departments comply with Corrosion Federal Regulations
  • Cathodic protection system design, cathodic protection system troubleshooting and repair, corrosion failure analysis
  • Technical consultation
  • Writing and revising PG&E standards related to corrosion control.
  • Below and above grade coating selection and application
  • Management of expense and capital projects
  • Auditing of corrosion control records
  • Information and data gathering, associated with corrosion related activities.
  • May be responsible for a small portion of PG&E’s service territory and oversees all corrosion related aspects.
  • Collaborates and supports the maintenance organizations, corrosion investigations, and the installation of mitigation equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Valid California driver's license on day one of employment
  • Knowledge of 49 CFR Part 192, CPUC GO 112E
