About the role
- Backend Developer developing and scaling APIs for a robust IoT platform focusing on data processing and security. Collaborating with teams on architecture and testing with modern technologies.
Responsibilities
- Development, maintenance and optimization of backend services, APIs and automation based on Python.
- Database design, integration and maintenance (e.g., PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB), including queries, indexes and migrations.
- Participation in architectural decisions (API structure, service layer, interfaces).
- Quality & stability: tests (unit/integration), CI/CD (GitLab), monitoring and logging.
- Close collaboration with internal teams (Embedded Systems, Operations, Product) through to production handover.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience with Python for backend development, data processing and API logic.
- Experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL/TimescaleDB (schema design, indexing, migrations).
- Confident working with REST interfaces and producing clear, versioned documentation.
- Familiarity with modern backend frameworks (e.g., FastAPI).
- Routine with Git, GitLab Flow, CI/CD and container environments (Docker).
- Working approach: structured, test-oriented and reproducible with attention to security and clean code.
- Languages: German C1, English B2.
