About the role
- Lead Engineer responsible for IBM Power systems and IBM i OS environments at Oshkosh. Ensuring stability, driving innovation, and supporting business continuity efforts.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced technical leadership for IBM Power servers, IBM i OS partitions, and other systems
- Ensure stability of mission-critical ERP platforms while driving innovation in observability and automation
- Drive adoption of observability and AIOps practices to improve monitoring and reduce issue resolution time
- Support design, testing, deployment, and support of HA/DR solutions to ensure ERP availability
- Provide mentoring and guidance to bridge technical and business stakeholders
Requirements
- Five (5) or more years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Proven expertise with HMC, MIMIX HA/DR, VIO server, and IBM DS storage
- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, incident resolution, and stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated skills in troubleshooting, CL scripting, and infrastructure design
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field preferred
- 10+ years of experience managing IBM i OS and IBM Power hardware environments preferred
- After-hours/weekend work availability for patching, OS upgrades, and on-call rotations
