About the role

• DevOps Engineer ensuring the efficient operation of Linux infrastructure for scireum GmbH. Involves automation, optimization, and administration of Linux servers while collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities

• You ensure the stable, secure, and efficient operation of our Linux-based infrastructure and continuously develop it through automation and optimization.
• You administer our Linux server environment.
• You automate and optimize systems using the CLI, shell, and scripts.
• You also manage systems via SSH and run containers with Docker.
• You configure network and communication protocols: HTTP/HTTPS, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, TCP/IP.
• You analyze and optimize our infrastructure in the area of monitoring.
• You take care of commissioning hardware, peripherals, and other devices, including configuration and user instruction.

Requirements

• You have strong expertise in Linux system administration and practical experience with CLI, shell scripting, SSH, and Docker.
• You have a solid understanding of network and internet protocols and work independently and responsibly — including remotely.
• Ideally, you have experience with some of our tools, such as Python, WireGuard/OpenVPN, SSL certificates, Terraform, S3 buckets, or cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of virtualization (VMware, Proxmox), databases (MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, ClickHouse, ElasticSearch), or infrastructure tools (Puppet, Nginx, HAProxy, Prometheus, Grafana, Graylog, Traefik, UptimeRobot) is an additional plus.
