Application Engineer providing technical support for OMICRON products in power systems. Involves diagnostics, consultation, and customer relations based in Houston, TX.
Responsibilities
Direct involvement with power system apparatus diagnostics, transformers, switchgear, rotating machines and ancillary equipment.
Provide focused expertise and guidance to the industry and peers on OMICRON Primary test instruments and their applications.
Conduct customer visits to maintain customer relations and increase revenues.
Product consultation and training on electrical theory and diagnostic methods, including application, data analysis, power system apparatus evaluation and report generation to our customer base.
Coordinate all technical issues with OMICRON's customers, sales representatives, and distributors.
Troubleshoot technical problems for customer and sales support.
Provide input on new products, product strategies, development, and application needs.
Manage and develop application notes and technical papers, including presentations at relevant seminars/conferences.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering mandatory.
Master's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering preferred but not required.
Interests in power systems, substations, generation, transmission and distribution of electric power.
Excellent writing, teaching, and presentation skills.
Reputable business and work ethics & personal character.

Manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of large objects more than 50 pounds.
Willingness to travel (up to 50%).
Substation knowledge a plus.
