Responsibilities
- Initiate own technical programs and make recommendations to management on technical programs based on analysis of customer needs and technology trends
- Apply technical experience in field of specialization or broad-based experience in multiple technical fields
- Provide leadership in determining solutions to complex problems and is recognized as having expertise in a functional area of technical specialization
- Mentor less senior professionals in communication skills
- Maintain excellent technical credibility by contributing significantly toward meeting Site missions and goals
- Consult on Aqueous Recovery flowsheet and best practices for safe implementation in facilities such as HB-Line
- Consult on Pyrochemical flowsheets and best practices for safe implementation in facilities such as K-Area complex
- Provide Subject Matter Expertise in separation theory, chloride salt byproduct and offgas treatments, and plutonium processing
Requirements
- US Citizenship Required
- PhD degree and about 15 years experience, MS degree and 17 years experience, BS degree and about 21 years experience
- Experience in Research and Development focused on Actinide Separations required
- Demonstrated implementation support of plutonium processing flowsheets required
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are preferred
- Demonstrated development of novel processing techniques for plutonium and/or uranium preferred
- Experience interfacing with Savannah River Site operating facility personnel during deployment of plutonium flowsheets preferred
