About the role
- Senior Accountant leading financial accounting for various companies and preparing financial statements. Managing tax declarations, process optimizations, and supporting the accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Management of general ledger and accounts payable accounting for various group companies (national and international)
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB (German Commercial Code)
- Independently prepare VAT returns and assist with annual tax returns
- Perform analyses and account reconciliations; ensure accuracy of transactions; act as point of contact for general ledger processes and accounting issues
- Optimize and standardize accounting processes (e.g., fixed asset accounting)
- Support the accounting team and other departments
Requirements
- Completed training as a certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter) or equivalent qualification with solid knowledge of HGB
- Several years of experience in financial accounting within a mid-sized or international company
- Team player with a high degree of conscientiousness and commitment
- Quick learner with a structured, solution-oriented approach and strong attention to detail
- Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and ideally experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central / NAV
- Fluent German and good English skills
