About the role
- Senior Accountant overseeing financial reporting and bookkeeping for an innovative design company. Responsible for monthly and yearly financial statements as well as process optimizations in accounting.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for general ledger and accounts payable bookkeeping for multiple group companies (domestic and international)
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with German GAAP (HGB)
- Independently prepare VAT returns and contribute to annual tax filings
- Perform analyses and account reconciliations; ensure accurate posting of transactions; act as the point of contact for processes and accounting issues in the general ledger
- Optimize and standardize accounting processes (e.g., fixed asset accounting)
- Support the accounting team and other departments
Requirements
- Completed certified accounting qualification (Bilanzbuchhalter) or equivalent with solid knowledge of German GAAP (HGB)
- Several years of experience in financial accounting within a mid-sized or international company
- Team player with a high level of diligence and commitment
- Quick learner with a structured, solution-oriented working style and strong attention to detail
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and ideally experienced with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central / NAV
- Excellent German language skills and good English skills
