About the role
- System Architect responsible for microprocessor & microcontroller architecture at NXP. Collaborating across hardware and software engineering teams for effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Drive the definition and development of MPU & MCU system architecture, ensuring alignment with market trends and industry standards.
- Work with product marketing to understand customer requirements and use cases and translate them into detailed specifications for Industrial IOT, Secure Connected EDGE Computing, and Automotive products.
- Define scalable and efficient computing architectures, including multi-core processing and memory hierarchy.
- Own key performance indicators for programs and drive optimization.
- Design and integrate security mechanisms, including secure boot, cryptographic accelerators, and trusted execution environments.
- Collaborate with software, hardware, and firmware teams to ensure seamless system-level integration of MCU components.
- Develop strategies to optimize performance, energy efficiency, and thermal management while maintaining reliability and scalability.
- Contribute to industry standards and drive innovation in MPU and MCU architectures.
- Define architectural guidelines, best practices, and documentation to guide product development teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 10 years or more relevant experience.
- Experience with use-case analysis and decomposition.
- Proven experience in microprocessor and microcontroller architecture, Software, SoC Architecture, and system-level integration.
- Strong understanding of microprocessor and microcontroller architectures, including CPU cores, DSP, memory management, and peripheral integration.
- Experience with system performance optimization, low-power design, and real-time processing.
- Familiarity with Linux, Zephyr, Free RTOS, or any similar operating systems.
- Familiarity with high-speed interconnects (e.g., AXI), memory architectures, and bus protocols.
- Strong collaboration skills to work across multidisciplinary teams, including silicon, software, firmware, and board design engineers.
- Strong multi-national collaboration capability.
- Experience in product development processes.
