About the role

  • Staff Applications Engineer developing electrical solutions for nVent products across industrial energy and infrastructure projects. Collaborating with customers from design to installation.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an expert on product development, electrical product manufacturing processes, compliance, and end-use applications
  • Promote Facility Electrical Protection and proper use of nVent ERICO products through customer site visits
  • Deliver market intelligence and VOC insights to multi-functional project teams through interactions with customers
  • Provide technical expertise to specifying engineers and adapt systems to customer specifications
  • Manage engineering projects for new products, enhancements, cost reduction, consolidation, and line extensions
  • Drive digital transformation by developing design, quoting, and inspection tools
  • Ensure technical accuracy in training materials, installation guides, manuals, and LMS content
  • Represent nVent on industry codes and standards committees
  • Assist customers with selecting and applying ERICO and ERIFLEX products
  • Support initiatives in E-mobility, Energy Storage, and Renewable Energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree from an accredited program required
  • Ideally 10+ years of proven experience in a related engineering field
  • Experience relating to electrical power systems, electrical connectors or other electromechanical products – ideally, low voltage power systems
  • Able to manage various projects in fast-paced, self-directed environments, and communicate effectively—both in-person and virtually
  • Both awareness of electrical design and safety standards (IEEE, ANSI, IEC, UL) and hands-on experience with electrical laboratory equipment
  • Ability to travel up to 20% for customer support and off-site testing, as needed.
