Responsibilities
- Designing safe, accurate and cost effective structural open-web steel joist girders, joists and steel deck
- Working closely with all other departments including estimating, sales, detailing, project management, finance, production and shipping
- Creating and maintaining strong partnerships within the team and with customers
- Reviewing contract documents and noting important information
- Effectively communicating design requirements to detailing department
- Utilizing design software to safely and accurately design open-web steel joists and joist girders
- Meeting with engineers and architects in the Midwest construction market
- Visiting job sites to understand the construction process
Requirements
- BS in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program
- Successful passage of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam prior to start date
- Previous experience at an engineer of record (EOR) consulting firm
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
