About the role

  • Purchasing and Logistics Specialist coordinating activities for raw material purchasing and logistics in the food industry. Seeking detail-oriented candidate to ensure operational excellence in a remote position.

Responsibilities

  • PO management: Place, update and follow up on POs accordingly
  • Meet frequently with the Sourcing & Purchasing team to analyze the position and smooth over any discrepancies
  • Coordinate deliveries according to information received
  • Run MRP on a weekly cadence, working collaboratively to ensure all materials are ordered.
  • Ensure all partners have the necessary documentation for productions and compliance.
  • Solicit and evaluate freight bids to secure the most cost-effective and reliable transportation options.
  • Coordinate logistics for shipments as needed, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
  • Manage relationships with freight carriers to ensure high service levels and address any issues that arise.
  • Work closely with the operations and procurement teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
  • Provide regular updates on purchasing and logistics activities internally
  • Address and resolve any issues related to documentation internally and externally with our partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong understanding of raw materials and packaging materials.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills to collaborate interdepartmentally and with outside partners.
  • Spanish speakers are a requirement to communicate with international vendors.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using MRP on an ERP system (SAP Business One is preferred) and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
  • Mac experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
