About the role
- Senior Infrastructure Analyst specializing in Vmware/Storage for a technology company. Responsible for designing infrastructure solutions and managing critical incidents in the environment.
Responsibilities
- Design infrastructure solutions, storage, and disaster recovery
- Perform environment analysis and troubleshooting
- Lead the handling of incidents and critical problems in the infrastructure environment
- Manage on-premises and public cloud data centers
- Create and maintain automations for the day-to-day demands of Level 1 (N1) and Level 2 (N2) teams
- Ensure adherence to security rules and standards, updates, and Disaster Recovery testing
- Evaluate and propose improvements to infrastructure monitoring
- Actively participate in researching new technologies, keeping skills up to date and adopting infrastructure improvements for services
- Review and drive delivery flow improvements together with the Governance team
- Work in incident and IT problem management
- Lead performance review forums, identify and monitor action plans
- Experience with mission-critical, high-availability environments and resources
- Experience in 24x7 critical environments
Requirements
- Knowledge of virtualization
- Knowledge of architecture, implementation, remediation, and migration of VMware environments
- Experience with host activation/provisioning and policy configuration following best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot key features and performance, and to perform Disaster Recovery tests
- Strong understanding of infrastructure concepts such as storage (RAID, SAN, NAS, Object Storage) and protocols (Fibre Channel, NFS, iSCSI, etc.)
- Proficiency in administration of servers, virtualization, storage, and backup
- Familiarity with Dell and HPE blade systems and Cisco UCS
- Experience with Dell storage platforms: Unity, PowerStore, VNX, VPLEX and Metro Node
- Knowledge of Dell VxRail
- VMware certification is a plus
