Responsibilities
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs powering the firm's automation workflows — settlements, document processing, compliance checks
- Develop integrations with the leading property registries, banking systems, and legal practice management platforms
- Design and optimise PostgreSQL database schemas, queries, and data access patterns
- Implement data processing pipelines for document parsing, validation, and automation
- Write comprehensive tests (unit, integration, E2E) and maintain high code quality standards
- Work with the security team to ensure all endpoints meet SOC 2 and privacy compliance requirements
- Monitor and improve API performance, reliability, and error handling
- Contribute to technical documentation and API specifications
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend engineering experience with Node.js and TypeScript
- Strong PostgreSQL database design, query optimisation, and data modelling skills
- Experience building RESTful APIs at scale with comprehensive error handling and documentation
- Understanding of data pipeline patterns, event-driven architectures, and async processing
