About the role

• Embedded Linux Developer at NewTec developing safety-relevant electronic systems. Collaborating on secure software and hardware solutions in various projects.

Responsibilities

• You design system and embedded Linux software architectures and implement embedded Linux applications
• You create embedded Linux distributions (e.g., with Yocto, Buildroot, ELBE)
• You integrate and configure real-time Linux extensions, including performing necessary adjustments and tests
• You contribute to the specification of Defense-in-Depth concepts
• You implement security measures (e.g., SELinux, AppArmor, logging, Secure Boot) and develop in accordance with security processes (Secure by Design)
• You conduct attacker and threat analyses in accordance with standards (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO/SAE 21434)
• You develop customer-specific solutions and coordinate work packages and deliverables with the team and, on a technical level, with our customers

Requirements

• You have a completed degree in a technical or scientific discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering) or an equivalent qualification
• You have professional experience in software development and in Linux/Embedded Linux
• Ideally, you have experience with software architectures and data communication
• Preferably, you are confident working with real-time Linux (RT-Linux)
• Ideally, you also have knowledge of Linux security tools and concepts (e.g., SELinux, AppArmor)
• Very good communication skills in German and English complete your profile
