About the role

  • Automation Test Engineer working on building and enhancing the automation framework for a new application at Ness Digital Engineering. Collaborating with Scrum teams to ensure test coverage and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Test planning and execution: create, enhance and maintain effective and automated test scenarios, ensuring adequate depth and breadth of test coverage
  • Carry out exploratory manual testing (e.g. smoke testing, regression testing for both functional and non-functional features of the application)
  • Understand the requirements from technical and business specifications
  • Actively support agile development methods and best practices
  • Use Jira to track defects and tasks
  • Take part in meetings, provide estimates, assist in presenting issues and solutions
  • Collaborate with other development team members in the planning and analysis phases of user stories during scrum sprints, and with the QA team in areas such as training and assistance
  • Support the business test team in UAT.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of Software Testing experience within SDLC, preferably in an agile development environment
  • Experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks, such as Selenium WD, Cypress, Playwright or similar
  • Experience using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, AWS Pipelines or similar for CI/CD
  • Hands-on experience of test planning, execution and maintenance of test scenarios using the principles of the BDD process
  • Knowledge of RDB and SQL for database interrogation
  • Experience with Rest API automation
  • Source control management ideally in Git
  • Passion for continuous integration and automated testing
  • Solid understanding of software testing concepts and methodologies
  • Experience in non-functional testing, e.g. cross browser responsiveness and cross platform testing, performance, etc.
  • Experience in defining functional and non-functional automated testing frameworks
  • Understanding of risk identification and analysis
  • Great communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong self-management skills and proactive attitude
  • Knowledge of Jira, Confluence
  • Experience in automation for mobile devices
  • Working knowledge of testing AWS technology
  • ISTQB qualification.
